Is Pietersen good enough for captaincy?

After the disappointing last session, the captaincy of Banglore Royal Challenger is taken away from Dravid. The cap is given to one of the most aggressive batsman and most expensive player of IPL, to KP Pietersen. The new caption does not able to change the luck of the team. The team losses 3 consecutive matches, after a having a great first win over defending champions. What is going wrong with Royal Challenger? The first question is with captaincy? Is Pietersen is correct choice for caption. If you ask me, no is my answer.

The first reason is the fact that this is the first session for Pietersen, in IPL. Giving captaincy to Pietersen means neglecting the experience gained in last session. The value of experience of session one can be seen by the team and player who do not perform in the last session. Look at the Deccan Charges, the team which occupied the last spot in IPL 1, have won 3 out of 3 matches. One more than that they won in whole last session. Even the player like Dravid and Kallis, how well they are performing this session after having the disappointing last session.

Secondly, giving captaincy to a foreign player does make a sense to me, especially when the player is still playing the international cricket for his country. International schedule gives a little chance for foreign caption to know about local talent. This is very visible in the case of Petersion, who does not remember, who is bowling well in the match and always relay on the big name. I wonder how he selects the playing 11 without knowing the capability of the local players. In the contras look at the Shane Warne, who know the capability of each player of his team, which is why he is winning.

Thirdly, Pietersen is going to play only few starting matches of this session. He has to leave the IPL in the middle for international series against West Indies. Changing the caption in the middle of session is again resettling the team which does not make any sense.

Lastly he needs to perform by bat. His consecutive failure in all the inning is hurting the team.
