IPL 2: Fight for semi-finials

At this stage, the point table correctly indicates the performance of teams in the South Africa edition of IPL. The top 3 teams are much ahead in the lot and almost certain for the knock out round, although certain is very risky word to use seeing the previous encounters in this session of IPL. But the certain can be use without any hesitance for Knight Rider who is definite for last slot without any competition.

The excitement and real fight is still on, but for the last position in the top half of the table. Mumbai Indian is definitely the favorites for challenging the top 3 in semi-finals. Looking at previous matches Mumbai Indians definitely looks underperformers especially with the composition they have. They have most balanced team with quality batsman’s and quality bowler but no performance. They have best unplayable bowler Malinga and most aggressive openers.

One team which is challenging the Mumbai Indian is the defending champions.  The Rajasthan Royal does not have the big guns but have one magician who knows how to make a hero from local talent.  Under Shane Warne the team always plays like a unit giving 100% more. With a little support from players like Yusuf Ojha, Jadega etc this team can beat any team on their day.

Punjab Kings shows the good display from bat but always struggle with bowl. Yusuf Abdulla their best bowler of the tournament shows the good performance but was never consistent enough. Finally Yusuf makes way for the Aussie fastest bowler Brett Lee, who has a pretty good starter but not good enough to sail his team towards victory.

Bangalore Royal Challengers has always struggle with their batting department. The team never found their composition in this session of IPL. Change in captaincy and inclusion of most expensive player of IPL, KP Pietersen does not brought any luck for them. Failure of inform Kiwi player Ryder and African fast bowler Styen is big upset for the team. At last some Kiwi contribution started coming but it looks quite late.
